Hypocrisy is the least of our problems. We need to take whatever climate action we can get from saints and sinners alike. (Sigh, even Joe Manchin).

Our inability to live a low-carbon life in a high carbon infrastructure is not a personal failing. It is not hypocrisy.

The clean-tech revolution is nothing to be afraid of, but failure to let go of fossil fuels is. People are already dying from climate disasters.

But who are the idiots? As you said, we have been warning for decades- about climate change, overshoot, toxins from feed lots, dead soil, prison corruption, the death of the middle class ... We protested the Iraq War, Trump's election and the electoral college and Citizen's United ... We had literal riots in the streets over police violence- what else are we supposed to do? We are not idiots, but we can't seem to budge the system.

Agreed. The Dems have done such a poor job with branding, messaging and the game of politics, that I suspect they are losing on purpose. Otherwise, it is too incredibly inept to explain.

Sort of an Oligarchy "good cop-bad cop" scenario. Repubs's (big voice) - "We will have corporate rule . You will call it freedom and you will like it."

Dems (tiny voice) "We are fighitng our little hearts out to stop corporate rule, but they are just too big and powerful, its not our fault..."

Meanwhile- corporations become people and people become resources. The super rich stay super rich and powerful. No one is to blame ...

Check out Yang's Forward Party. The way to break the two party monopoly is with ranked choice voting.
