Except guns are not an absolute right. The second amendment is a protection of the militia, not a weapons free for all.
It reads, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
When this was written to "take up arms" was to fight for a cause, for your country, not to play with weapons at home.
The courts can claim that only half the amendment applies anymore, but they do not have the right to amend the constitution and only apply half a law.
The "right" of the second amendment is a thin cover for an agenda for a violent society.
