Yes, there is fascinating science exploring how the galaxy is unfolding. The farther away the star is (which means it is older because of the speed of light) the colder it seems to be. Something about the friction caused by the movement of mass being pulled by gravity. Theefore older parts of the universe are colder, so the galaxy must be getting warmer.

Fortunately, that does not present any present, measurable consequence for Earth. Perhpas in a billion years, our precious goldilocks position near the sun will no longer exist.

But if we don't make it through the next 50-100 years due to human caused climate change at a pace unknown in nature ...

Well in a billion, or million, or a thousand years, the cockroaches will be telling our story, not humans.
